The North Carolina Sheriffs' Association, the professional organization of our state's 100 Sheriffs, works to strengthen the law enforcement services Sheriffs provide to the people of North Carolina.
From its headquarters in Raleigh, the North Carolina Sheriffs' Association acts as an advocate for Sheriffs’ Offices around the state by monitoring actions of the General Assembly, courts and other government agencies which affect the criminal justice system.
The Association acts as a voice for Sheriffs. We coordinate with state government officials and agencies to improve programs related to law enforcement. We cooperate with and assist the National Sheriffs’ Association and other organizations that focus on law enforcement issues.
The Association provides an information clearinghouse for our members, with rapid distribution of news items. And, the Association is a leader in supporting programs for law enforcement training and standards.
The Association promotes an Honorary Membership program and regularly keeps all members informed through newsletters and other informative mailings.
